About Us

Welcome!

Rev. Marc Noel was born and raised in St. Paul, Alberta, Canada. He was raised in a French-Canadian Catholic family. He did missionary work in 1991 with Mother Teresa's sisters with the poor in Haiti. Upon returning from Haiti, he stopped in Louisiana and spoke with the bishop, who extended an invitation to him to join a youth evangelization team in the Diocese of Alexandria. After a year and a half, he went to a missionary seminary in Colombia to discern a vocation to the priesthood. After a year, he decided to return and enter the seminary to become a priest in the Diocese of Alexandria. Father Marc was ordained a priest in 1998. Today, Father has been at Our Lady of Guadalupe since 2021.

Our History

Our History

Over 30 years ago the first Mexicans came to Forest Hill to work in the plant nurseries. Our Lady of Guadalupe's mission began with the Reverend Pedro Sierra visiting the plant nurseries looking for Catholics and celebrating Mass in their homes. The first small church was placed on the site that is now our "little hall." The second church that we are now using was built for our community, which over time grew tremendously. But, with all the Catholic families living in the area today, we do not have adequate space for our community. During weddings, quinceañeras, first communions, confirmations, and ACTS potlucks, there is limited space for people inside the church. For many years we have been talking about the need to build a larger church. The time has come to no longer be a mission, but to become a parish, so that our pastor can serve the community full time. The time has come to build a new church to better serve our needs. All together we can achieve something wonderful for God.
